Childcare

Nurturing childcare is provided for children 2 and under by paid adult and youth staff in the Bristol Room, at the rear of the Sanctuary below the Narthex. Parents should sign their children in when dropping them off in childcare. Please provide a diaper bag clearly labeled with your child's name. We discourage snacks, as many young children have allergies or have not yet been introduced to some solid foods. Bottles and sippy cups are permitted and should be clearly labeled with your child's name.

Preschool  Celebrating Me and My World

Celebrating Me and My World provides preschoolers with opportunities to grow in their sense of trust and caring, to develop their self-identity and to deepen their connection with all life.  It helps participants develop a positive self image and to feel safe and accepted in their church home.

Kindergarten and Grade One Wonderful Welcome

The Wonderful Welcome curriculum engages and challenges leaders and children alike to explore how and why we are willing to welcome others into our lives. We welcome not only strangers, but family, our peers, our neighbors and even entities that are not people such as our animal friends and nature itself.

Grades Two and Three Faithful Journey

Our children need to learn who Unitarian Universalists are, what we believe, and how we live in faith. Faithful Journeys equips them with language and experiences to answer these questions and help them develop a strong Unitarian Universalist identity.  Participants embark on a pilgrimage of faith, exploring how Unitarian Universalism translates into life choices and everyday actions.

Grades Four and Five Toolbox of Faith

Toolbox of Faith invites participants to reflect on the qualities of our Unitarian Universalist faith, such as integrity, courage, and love, as tools they can use in living their lives and building their own faith. Each session uses a tool as a metaphor for an important quality of our faith such as reflection (a mirror), flexibility (duct tape), and justice (a flashlight).

Grades Six through Eight Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace helps participants understand right and wrong and act on their new understanding. Its purpose is to equip them for moving safely and productively through the middle and highschool years, when they will continually be tugged toward both ends of the ethics continuum. The program points to Unitarian Universalist values as resources essential to their movement toward independence.

YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists)

Young Religious Unitarian Universalists, grades 9 through 12.  YRUU provides youth with an open forum to discuss and come to understand basic concepts behind our seven principles, and current events.  The group creates leadership roles for themselves with the assistance of adult advisors. There are opportunities for the youth to get involved in service projects, explore their spirituality, and build community within the group and in the larger church.

Weekly Children's RE Lesson Plans
Wondering what your children are doing in Sunday School?  Now you can find out! The curriculum for our kindergarten through grade 8 classes are all online. Parents can check the weekly email to see what lesson is being taught in which class, then go online and look up the lesson plan. It's a great way to get your children excited about what they'll be doing on Sunday, or get material to engage your children in conversation about what they're learning each week. Here's how:

1. Go to
UUA Curricula
2. Click on "Children's Programs"
3. Find the curriculum we're using for your child's age group
Kindergarten and Grade 1 = Wonderful Welcome
    Grades 2 and 3 = Faithful Journeys
Grades 4 and 5 = Toolbox of Faith
    Grades 6 - 8 = Amazing Grace
4. Click on the lesson you want to know more about.  (You can find which lesson we're teaching in each class in the weekly email and the order of service.)

Please note that the lesson plans contain far more material than we can fit into one RE class, so not all activities in the plan will happen in class.
